We have been serving Vermont families and providing the highest quality pediatric care since 1968.
We strive to provide the highest quality healthcare to infants, children and adolescents, consistent with regional and national evidence-based guidelines. The goal of the practice is to provide care for children and their families in a friendly, courteous and caring atmosphere. All of our doctors, nurses and staff adhere to strict standards of confidentiality and professional behavior.
Medicine is constantly changing! We strive to stay abreast of the most up to date research and policies so that every child we see has access to top-notch, evidence-based medical care.
We value effective communication and strive to establish long term relationships with built on mutual respect and trust.
Our team of pediatricians and staff works closely with patients, families and specialists to make every visit and experience a positive one.
Pediatricians specialize in the care of children and adolescents from birth through early adulthood. We also provide parents with support and advice with issues such as growth and development, safety and prevention, nutrition, and emotional wellness to foster a lifetime of good health.
Well child visits are a vital part of your child’s health care, and they typically follow this schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics.
During a well visit, we evaluate growth, development, vision, speech, hearing and emotional & mental well-being. These visits also provide an opportunity to discuss child safety, nutrition, accident prevention and anticipated changes in behavior and development. Some visits may include immunizations and age appropriate lab tests.
We encourage parents to keep a list of questions they may have and bring the list to the visit.
We understand that children can become ill quickly and unexpectedly, which is why we reserve a portion of our daily schedule for sick children. When at all possible, we try to schedule same-day sick appointments.
All of the physicians at Pediatric Medicine are certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and are members of the American Academy of Pediatrics as well as the Vermont State Medical Society. They regularly attend conferences and workshops to stay abreast of the rapid changes in medical care and to maintain their credentialing.
Each has admitting privileges at the Vermont Children’s Hospital at The University of Vermont Medical Center and has a close relationship with the specialists there. As faculty members of the University of Vermont College of Medicine, the doctors are actively involved in teaching medical students and pediatric residents in the hospital.
Families who come to Pediatric Medicine select one of the physicians to be their primary pediatrician. Routine well-child visits and pre-scheduled follow-up appointments are scheduled with their PCP. However, at times when a family requires advice or an urgent office visit and their primary doctor is unavailable, one of the other physicians will see your child.
The Pediatric Medicine team is committed to providing your family with the best possible care. Most of our staff, both nursing and administrative, have been with us for years. They are dedicated, knowledgeable, and skilled at their jobs.
