Meet Our Physicians

William T. Gerson MD, FAAP

Dr. William T. Gerson was born and raised in Storrs, CT. He received his undergraduate degree in History of Science at Harvard College and his medical degree at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He completed his internship, residency, and chief residency at Children’s Hospital Boston. After finishing his training, Dr. Gerson remained at Children’s Hospital as a member of the Pulmonary Division and Director of the Cystic Fibrosis Clinic. He joined Pediatric Medicine in 1988.

Dr. Gerson is a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Vermont Larner College of Medicine, continues to publish articles on topics of general pediatrics in Current Problems in Pediatric and Adolescent Health Care, is on the Editorial Board of Infectious Diseases in Children (now Healio Pediatrics Peer Perspective Board), and has been continually selected to The Best Doctors in America since 1996. He was a longtime Member of the American Board of Pediatrics and a Past-President of the Medical Staff at the University of Vermont Medical Center. Dr. Gerson and his wife, Kristine, live in Charlotte and have four adult sons and six grandchildren.

Weekends & Holidays
9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Urgent care visits only. Closing time variable dependent on season and call-volume.

We have triage nurses available by phone during office hours to help you with your child’s acute illness or answer questions on routine childcare.

Holidays

Weekend hours apply on New Year’s Eve/Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve.

The office is closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

After-Hours Care

If your child’s illness or injury is life threatening, dial 911.

A physician is on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays. For urgent matters that cannot wait until business hours, call our office to speak to our answering service and leave a message for our on-call doctor, who will call you back.
